Stacy Lattisaw . Jump To The Beat (a DeeJ. Valavanis jumpin’ jumpin’ edit)
Stacy Lattisaw recorded her first album at the tender age of 12 in 1979, under the direction of record producer & disco maestro Van McCoy. However, she achieved success when Narada Michael Walden, who was just beginning a career as a producer, took her under his wings and delivered five hit albums for her between 1981 and 1986.
“Jump To The Beat “, written by Narada Michael Walden & Lisa Walden, was an immediate dance smash upon its release in 1981 peaking at #1 on the U.S. Hot Disco/Dance chart and also #3 on the U.K. Pop chart. (In 1991 it was covered by Australian singer Dannii Minogue.)
With lines like “neglect the pain you hide’ and “embrace the good things in life”, “Jump To The Beat” embodied the carefree, optimistic world that was raising just out of the golden disco years into the pre synth-pop 80’s, and was played everywhere from funky block ghetto parties to the middle class white rollerskating downtown nightclubs.
At first I just intended to prolong the length of the track as the 12inch lasted only 5min. Then I got carried away and re-edited like that.. Please, when u play it, play it loud..
